What is Cosmetic Dentistry?
Cosmetic dentistry, sometimes called esthetic dentistry, is a system of dental treatments designed to improve the beauty of your smile. There are many techniques, including re-contouring the teeth and gums, placement of veneers or porcelain crowns, bonding and replacement of missing teeth. In order to perform cosmetic dentistry treatments, the dentist must receive advanced training and have skill and experience using the high tech equipment required for these procedures.
Will it hurt?
Here at the Stony Brook Center of Cosmetic Dentistry, patient satisfaction is one of our highest goals. We make every effort necessary to ensure that you have the most pain-free treatments that we can offer. Equipment such as the computerized periodontal assessment and the “The Wand” are both items that are designed on the basis of providing comfort and pleasure to an otherwise uncomfortable situation. Once we have your treatment plan outlined, we can go into detail regarding the alternatives we offer that make each treatment as pain free as possible. Most importantly, don’t put off any dental procedures because of fear of pain we have the latest technology and the expertise to make treatments pain free.
How long does treatment take?
Each case is different and is treated with a different time schedule. One thing the practice takes pride in is making sure you do not have to wait to be seen.  Our policy is to have no patient wait for their treatment in the reception area. We make every effort to get you with the doctor at the exact time of your appointment. As for the treatments the length of time varies. For example the average in-office whitening takes about an hour, while crowns or veneers can be done in one or two visits.
How Much Will it Cost Me?
Each case is different and customized for the patient so cost varies with each case depending on design and complexity. Overall the prices at the Stony Brook Center for Cosmetic Dentistry are competitive with other practices in the area. Simple treatments can range from a few hundred, while a complex full mouth restoration can be a several thousand. Either way we are committed to providing you with a gorgeous smile you can be completely happy with. The best approach for determining the cost of your treatment would be to schedule an initial appointment. Sit down with the treatment coordinator and you can discuss your specific treatment plan and specific cost. We also offer a variety of finance options, accept all major credit cards and most major insurance.

We are pleased to offer Dental Fee Plan (DFP) to our patients. DFP is a convenient, no initial payment, low monthly payment plan for dental treatments of $1,000 to $25,000. Offering DFP allows us to make the smile you've always wanted affordable.
